We are back in Gqeberha today. Sunrisers Eastern Cape want their fourth straight win while Joburg Super Kings want to return to winning ways after losing two consecutive games.

Drama on the very first ball. Sipamla gets Crawley in what seemed to be a perfect start for the Super Kings. It turns out though, that it is a no ball. Crawley's stumps were shattered but Sipamla has overstepped.

An eventful first over from Sipamla. He bowled Crawley on the first ball but it turned out to be a no ball. The next ball he yet again overstepped. Then Crawley smashed the free hit to the boundary and a total of nine runs came from the over.

Finally the Sunrisers get a big over. They take 14 from the fourth over bowled by Viljoen. Before that the Super Kings pacers were not ready to give anything away. Crawley is already dismissed and now Bedingham and Abell have the responsibility to steer the Sunrisers to a big Powerplay score.

Just seven runs off the last two overs of the powerplay both of them bowled by spinners. Theekshana concedes three in the fifth over and Tahir closes the powerplay with just a four-run over. Bedingham and Abell are both under pressure now to get some boundaries.

The pressure finally results in a wicket and it is Evan Jones who strikes with his medium pace. Tom Abell was trying to up the ante but he departs for 23 off 20 balls. Markram now joins Bedingham in the middle but both will be under pressure to score quick.

Stubbs and Markram are in the middle. Stubbs has not been in the best of forms so far but today he has another opportunity to show his quality. He came to the crease after Bedingham was dismissed by Sipamla for 37 off 34 balls.

Markram is gone now and the Sunrisers now have pinned hopes on Stubbs and Jansen. The duo have the ability to take the game away from the Super Kings. But can they do it tonight? Or the Super Kings death bowling will stand up tonight?

A good end for the Sunrisers and Stubbs. The right hander finishes unbeaten on 35 off 22 balls. Jansen could not hit it long today and goes back unbeaten on 11 off 10 balls but overall it is a good score that the Sunrisers have put up especially after their slow start. Markram who scored 43 from 29 balls was their top scorer.

Joburg spinners were economical. Tahir gave away just 28 and Theekshana conceded 31 in four overs but they could not take wickets. Evan Jones picked up two wickets while Sipamla and Vijoen picked up a wicket each.

A watchful start so far from the Super Kings openers. It is not a huge total that they are chasing and that is why perhaps Conway and du Plessis are taking their time. Some good bowling also from Jansen and Gleeson.

JSK 48/1 (6) need 118 runs in 84 balls

Du Plessis has been sent back by Jansen but the last two overs of the powerplay have given the Super Kings a good platform. Conway and du Plooy are there in the middle and they would like to stretch this partnership.

JSK 77/1 (10) need 89 runs in 60 balls

A steady first half of the innings for the Super Kings. They have not quite put the foot on the accelerator but they have also made sure the wickets remain intact. Conway and du Plooy have added 43 runs in 31 balls. So it is a good partnership going on. Sunrisers will need to break it.

JSK 94/2 (13) need 72 runs in 42 balls

Bairstow is new to the crease and he too is not finding it easy to just come and smash. Conway too has spent 32 balls for his 33. Super Kings need a move on here. A big over is the need of the hour for the Super Kings while the Sunrisers will hope to create some more pressure.

JSK 115/4 (16) need 51 runs in 24 balls

Jansen returns into the attack to bowl his last and the 16th over of the chase and straightaway gets the wicket of Bairstow. Now, things are really tough for the Super Kings. Ferreira is still there but he will have to do the heavy lifting now. SEC would want their bowlers to hold nerves.

JSK 122/5 (17.2) need 44 runs in 16 balls

A big wicket and that just might close the game. Gleeson dismisses Ferreira and Super Kings are now down and out. Sunrisers heading towards their fourth consecutive win of the competition and Super Kings headed for their third straight loss.

Fourth consecutive victory for the Sunrisers and the defending champions are back in form. Joburg Super Kings have not lost their last three games. Once Ferreira was dismissed in the 18th over, JSK had no chance and ultimately they fell short by a decent margin.

Sunrisers Eastern Cape have won their fourth consecutive game and Joburg Super Kings have lost their third straight game. It was not the best of starts for the SEC batting first but it was once again their captain Aiden Markram who played a crucial innings of 43. Tristan Stubbs gave a good finish with an unbeaten 35 to take SEC to 165/5. The chase got off to a slow start for the JSK and once the pressure rose, they collapsed. Marco Jansen bowled beautifully to take two wickets with Ottneil Baartman and Richard Gleeson also striking twice.

Sunrisers Eastern Cape rise to the second spot with 19 points while Joburg Super Kings are at the fourth spot with two wins and 10 points in six matches.

Marco Jansen is the Player of the Match. He picked up two wickets and bowled beautifully, first with the new ball and then at the death. He also scored 11 unbeaten runs.

Another victory for Sunrisers Eastern Cape but that would hurt Joburg Super Kings fans. Anyway, SA20 2025 moves on and will be back tomorrow and so will us. Thanks for following.
