Batting first, West Indies Masters put up a solid total of 179/6 in their 20 overs. Chris Gayle, Dwayne Smith and Narshingh Deonarine scored thirties while Ashley Nurse contrinbuted with a quickfire 29. Monty Panesar bowled a brilliant spell and gave away just 14 runs in his four overs and also picked up three wickets. Chris Schofield too had a good day with the ball as he scalped two batters and gave just 21 runs in his four overs.
Chasing 180, England Masters could only get to 171/8 in their 20 overs. Phil Mustard scored 35 while opening the innings but other English veterans failed. Some late order fireworks brought England Masters into the game but ultimately they fell short.
Sulleiman Benn was the pick of the West Indies Masters bowlers as conceded just 11 runs from his four overs and picked two wickets. Ravi Rampaul and Jerome Taylor too picked up a couple of wickets each.
