The 42nd edition of the AFC U-20 Asian Cup will get under way from February 12, Wednesday and will conclude with the grand final on March 1, 2025. (More Football News)

The marquee event will be held by China and a total of 16 teams will compete in the tournament, to battle it out for the numero uno prize.

The top four sides will qualify for the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2025 in Chile as AFC representatives. With China being the host nation, they have automatically qualified for the AFC U-20 Asian Cup. Uzbekistan are the current holders of the cup, having won it in 2023.

16 teams are divided into groups of four - A, B, C and D. South Korea are the most decorated side in the history of this competition, winning the trophy 12 times (1959, 1960, 1963, 1978, 1980, 1982, 1990, 1996, 1998, 2002, 2004, 2012).

Group A: China PR, Australia, Kyrgyz Republic, Qatar

Group B: Iraq, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, DPR Korea

Group C: Uzbekistan, Islamic Republic of Iran, Indonesia, Yemen

Group D: Japan, Korea Republic, Syria, Thailand
