FIFA World Cup 2026: Teams That Can Qualify Today
Iran
Iran play Uzbekistan today in Group A of third round of Asian qualifiers. They are currently on the top of the standings without a defeat in seven matches. If they continue their unbeaten run against Uzbekistan as well, they will seal qualification. Iran could qualify even with a loss but would need both Qatar and UAE to fail to win their respective matches.
Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan are second in Group A just three points behind Iran. If they managed to defeat Iran today, they could secure qualification depending on results elsewhere in the section.
Republic of Korea
Group B leaders, Korea too are just a win away from 2026 FIFA World Cup. If they beat Jordan today, they will be in prime position to get a spot. However, they would still hope that Palestine take points off Iraq and if the Palestinians do then Korea will be through.
Argentina
Runaway leaders in the South American qualifiers, the defending champions are on the brink of getting into the next edition of the World Cup. They face old rivals Brazil today and if they manage to get even a solitary point from this encounter, we will be seeing Lionel Messi again in the World Cup.
In fact, if Bolivia fail to beat Uruguay in another qualifying game that takes place before Argentina's game, the La Albiceleste will be through.
