Rishabh Pant made a surprise appearance in the enthralling Indian Super League semi-final, second-leg clash between Mohun Bagan Super Giant (MBSG) and Jamshedpur FC in Kolkata on Monday, April 7.

A packed Salt Lake Stadium had Pant as well as his franchise, Lucknow Super Giants' owner Sanjiv Goenka, who is also the principal owner of MBSG, in attendance.

In the match, Jason Cummings handed the hosts a 1-0 lead by converting a penalty in the 51st minute to bring the tie aggregate to 2-2 in the second half. The game had entered its 73rd minute at the time of writing.

LSG skipper Pant is yet to fire in the ongoing Indian Premier League, with scores of 2, 2, 15 and 0 so far. Lucknow have won two of their four games, including a 12-run victory over Mumbai Indians in their previous encounter.

Images of an angry-looking Goenka glaring at Pant had earlier gone viral on social media, bringing back memories of the entire saga with KL Rahul, who plays for Delhi Capitals now after having been snubbed by LSG in the mega auction.
