Why Didn't Lallianzuala Chhangte Celebrate His Goal?

Lallianzuala Chhangte, now the captain of Mumbai City FC, was once a fresher at NorthEast United. He began his ISL journey with NorthEast United. Hailing from Lunglei, a town in Mizoram, he shares a deep connection with the people of the Northeast. Out of respect for his roots and former club, Chhangte chose not to celebrate after scoring against them in Shillong.

Chhangte was loaned to the Highlanders in 2016 Highlanders, making his debut. And the very first match he played was against Mumbai City as a substitute.

Bipin Singh opened the scoring early, and Lallianzuala Chhangte sealed the win in stoppage time with a composed finish. The Islanders' defense stood firm, denying the Highlanders any breakthrough. A commanding performance from Mumbai as they bag three crucial points as they seek to book a spot in top six.

With this defeat the Highlanders impressive run of eight unbeaten games comes to an end.

Mumbai City will host FC Goa on February 12 and the North East United will face down Jamshedpur FC on February 13 in their next ISL fixtures.
