The first five minutes have been a scrappy affair, with the teams looking to make the first move and "not be reactive" as the on-air commentator mentioned. Diego Mauricio livens up proceedings with an enterprising long-range shot that takes everyone, including Mumbai City custodian Phurba Lachenpa, by surprise. The shot sails inches over the bar, however.

It is now the turn of Nikos Karelis to unleash a long-ranger. His left-footed strike is a good one, on target, and forces a diving save from home team skipper Amrinder, who parries it away for a corner. No harm done from the set piece though, and we are still at 0-0.

After another brief spell of midfield tussling, we see a purposeful run from Mauricio from the right, and he cuts in past Mumbai City defenders to take a shot at goal which goes into the side netting. A genuine chance there for the Juggernauts.

We go into the first drinks break at the 30-minute mark with no team having found the back of the net yet. A few chances for both sides, but none materialized. Let's see what the remaining 15 minutes of the first half bring forth.

The pace of the game has slowed down considerably, and the urgency of trying to create incisive moves and find that opening goal seems to be missing. Five more minutes (before added time) to go in the first half. Meanwhile, Odisha coach Sergio Lobera receives a yellow card, perhaps for remonstrating a bit too much to the referee's liking.

Three minutes of added time in the first half. Though no goals have been scored, the action is heating up now, especially with all the jostling in the box during set pieces.

The first half ends on a fiery note, with Sergio Lobera still arguing with match officials regarding his yellow card. The second half is off to a much brighter note than what we witnessed in most of the first 45 minutes. The Islanders on the charge from the get go, and it takes some top-class defending and alert keeping from Amrinder to deny Mumbai City first blood.

The renewed energy leads to a massive chance for Mumbai City, but it is thwarted by a superb Amrinder intervention. Jeremy Manzorro lines up an inch-perfect assist via a through ball to Jayesh Rane, who lets rip from his right foot. But Amrinder makes himself big and stretches out his right foot to complete the reflex-action save that denies the visitors an opening goal.

An injured Amey Ranawade is taken off the pitch and Raynier Fernandes replaces him. A foul and free kick later, Mumbai City skipper Lallianzuala Chhangte misses from outside the box with his left-footed shot. A lot more happening in the game now than before, but the goal is still not forthcoming. We are now into the final 10 minutes of the encounter, plus whatever injury time will be allocated.

A series of near misses in the final 30 minutes. After Chhangte hit the sidebar, it is now the turn of Diego Mauricio's shot to smack into the left upright of the Mumbai City goal. And we are now into added time, six minutes worth in all.

And that's that. The referee blows the final whistle to bring the often-frustrating encounter to a tame end. There were a number of genuine goal-scoring chances through the match, and none more striking than Chhangte's attempt that was palmed into the post by Odisha skipper Amrinder in the dying moments of the game. But the final result is one that would not please either side.

Odisha are now placed fourth in the ISL standings with 16 points from 11 games, while Mumbai City are eighth with 14 from 10. The Juggernauts will next take on East Bengal at the Salt Lake Stadium on December 12, while Mumbai City will meet Mohammedan Sporting on December 15.
