The 29-year-old, who clinched the 100m bronze in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games last summer, faces charges of battery, resisting an officer and breach of peace.

Kerley, in an “aggressive demeanour” approached the officials while they were investigating another incident over a concern about his car.

A police report, according to the Guardian, said that Kerley "continued to resist officers and used evasive movements to avoid being arrested" before being taken down to the ground by four officials.

Kerley was taken to a local hospital after he was stunned with a Taser, and then to the Miami-Dade County jail.

The police body cam video also shows Kerley up on his feet before being tasered before being taken into custody.

Along with a bronze in Paris, Kerley also clinched 100m silver at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 and won gold at the World Championships in 2022.

He also has won world 4x100m and 4x400m gold medals, and also has recorded the sixth-fastest 100m time with 9.76 seconds.
