The 28th National Federation Senior Athletics Competition (Federation Cup) is heating up in Kochi, Kerala, running from April 21st to 24th, 2025. (More Sports News)

As a key event on the Indian athletics calendar, it serves as a vital tune-up for athletes aiming for the Asian Athletics Championships next month in Gumi, Republic of Korea.

The opening day (Monday, April 21st) delivered significant drama. Railways sprinter Pranav Pramod stunned the field to win the men's 100m dash in 10.27 seconds, upsetting favourites like national record holder Gurindervir Singh, who finished last.

In the men's javelin, Sachin Yadav (Police) took gold with a throw of 83.86m, leading seven athletes past the Asian qualification mark. Asian Games silver medallist Kishore Jena finished fourth (77.82m).

Telangana라이브 바카라 Nithya Gandhe claimed the women's 100m title (11.50s). The day also saw a new meet record in the men's 10,000m, with Army's Sawan Barwal clocking 28:57.13 for gold, also surpassing the Asian qualifying time. Sanjivani Jadhav won the women's 10,000m.
