Dimitrov, 33, advanced to the last four after his quarter-final opponent, local hope Jordan Thompson retired due to injury. The 2017 and 2024 champion was leading eighth-seeded Aussie 6-1, 2-1 when the play was stopped.
Lehecka defeated Nicolas Jarry of Chile 6-4, 6-4 to enter his eighth tour-level semi-final. The 23-year-old claimed his first ATP Tour title in Adelaide last year.
In the second semi-final, American player Reilly Opelka will face big-serving Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard. Opelka defeated Serbian great Novak Djokovic while Mpetshi Perricard got the better of Jakub Mensik of Czechia in their respective quarter-finals.
The Brisbane International, an ATP Tour 250 event, is part of the Australian Open Series. The season-opening Grand Slam in Melbourne starts on January 12.
