The 78th edition of the Cannes Film Festival will showcase films from Wes Anderson, Richard Linklater, Ari Aster, Julia Ducournau, Kelly Reichardt and others.

The official selection of films for the Cannes Film Festival, 2025, was revealed Thursday, April 10, with several prominent movies in competition.

Wes Anderson will launch his film The Phoenician Scheme, Richard Linklater will launch Nouvelle Vague, and Jochim Trier will showcase his latest feature Sentimental Value, at the 78th Cannes Film Festival.

This year's festival will open with the film, Leave One Day by French filmmaker Amelie Bonin.

It's also a proud moment for India as filmmaker Neeraj Ghaywan's Homebound will be screened in Un Certain Regard section.

Scarlett Johansson's directorial debut Eleanor the Great, will also be played in Un Certain Regard.

Tom Cruise's Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning will also make its debut on the Croisette, ahead of its global release. It will play Out of Competition on May 14.

Robert De Niro will receive the honorary Palme d’Or at the opening night ceremony.
