Pahalgam Attack: 14 Active Militants Identified Across Kashmir; UAE, Iran Condemn Terror Attack

As officials continue anti-militancy raids, a sixth house affiliated with a JeM militant was blown up. Furthermore, the presidents of the United Arab Emirates and Iran have expressed their solidarity with India and condemned the terror attack in Pahalgam.

Amid the aftermath of the Pahalgam attack, which killed 26 tourists, a total of 14 active militants have been identified in the Jammu and Kashmir region. As officials continue anti-militancy raids, a sixth house affiliated with a JeM militant was blown up.

Furthermore, the presidents of the United Arab Emirates and Iran have expressed their solidarity with India and condemned the terror attack in Pahalgam.

Pahalgam Attack | Latest Developments

  • Security agencies have identified a total of 14 active militants in the wake of the Pahalgam attack. This list comes after the houses of six militants were blown up as part of the anti-militancy operations in Jammu and Kashmir.

  • As per the list accessed by 바카라 India, the 14 active militants have been identified in Sopore, Awantipore, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian and Kulgam. These militants have been associated with government-designated terrorist organisations such as - Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM).

  • Security agencies further added that of these 14 active militants, three are with HM, eight from LeT and three with JeM.

  • As India continues to reel from the terror attack, the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, spoke with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and "strongly condemned" the Pahalgam terror attack.

  • As per the official statement from MEA, UAE expressed full solidarity and support with India.

  • Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian echoed a similar statement and condemned the Pahalgam terrorist attack during a phone call with PM Modi. Pezeshkian further emphasised the need for regional cooperation to combat terrorism.

  • A social activist was fired at in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara. As per a PTI report, the 45-year-old social activist was injured after he was fired at inside his residence at Kandi Khas late on Saturday.

At least 26 people were killed in a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam on April 22. The victims include one Nepali tourist and 25 Indians. The attack has also prompted the downgrade of ties between India and Pakistan with a tit-for-tat visa suspension and abeyance of key treaties such as the Indus Water Treaty and the Shimla Agreement.
