The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) is set to conduct the 11th National Maritime Search and Rescue Exercise and Workshop, SAREX-24, in Kochi, Kerala, from November 28-29. Organized under the National Maritime Search and Rescue Board, the event will be inaugurated by Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh, with ICG Director General S Paramesh, the National Maritime Search and Rescue Coordinating Authority, also in attendance.

The theme for SAREX-24 is "Enhancing Search and Rescue Capabilities through Regional Collaboration," reflecting India라이브 바카라 commitment to providing assistance during large-scale emergencies in its search and rescue region and beyond. The exercise aims to strengthen coordination among stakeholders and enhance operational readiness through demonstrations of advanced technologies and cooperative efforts with regional partners.

Event Highlights

On the first day, a series of workshops, seminars, and a tabletop exercise will take place, involving senior officials from government agencies, ministries, armed forces, and international delegates. These discussions will focus on refining strategies and strengthening maritime search and rescue operations.

The second day will feature a sea exercise off the Kochi coast, simulating two large-scale contingencies. The first scenario involves a passenger vessel with 500 passengers facing distress, while the second depicts an emergency with a civil aircraft carrying 200 passengers. The response will showcase the use of satellite-aided distress beacons, drones for deploying lifebuoys, air-droppable life rafts, and remote-controlled lifebuoys.

This comprehensive drill will evaluate the efficiency of rescue operations and coordination with national and international stakeholders. It will also highlight India's use of cutting-edge technology and cooperative engagements with neighbouring and friendly countries.

Broader Impact

Over the years, the ICG has established itself as a key maritime agency, spearheading India라이브 바카라 efforts to create a robust search and rescue framework. The Coast Guard has signed an MoU with Indian Ocean Rim Association member states to coordinate search and rescue operations in the region. Additionally, it serves as the nodal agency for SAR activities in the Indo-Pacific, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's SAGAR (Security and Growth for All in the Region) vision.

Defence Partnership Days

In parallel, the Defence Ministry will host "Defence Partnership Days" on November 28-29 in New Delhi. Jointly organised by the Centre for Joint Warfare Studies and Indian Military Review, this event aims to strengthen collaboration between the armed forces and industry.

Chief of Defence Staff Gen Anil Chauhan and Secretary (Defence Production) Sanjeev Kumar will inaugurate the event, which will include business-to-government (B2G) and business-to-business (B2B) meetings. Over 200 companies, 100 defence officials, and an exhibition featuring 75 companies will showcase innovations to enhance India라이브 바카라 defence capabilities.

Both events point to India's efforts to enhance maritime safety, bolster national security, and build stronger international relationships.
