Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Thursday stormed back to power with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) set to win over 300 seats on its own.
Narendra Modi is the only leader after former prime ministers Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi to return as country's top leader with a majority. In his victory speech at the party headquarters where over 20,000 workers were invited, PM Modi thanked the country for entrusting him with the responsibility of leading India again.
"We are coming back with a bigger mandate, but with a bigger mandate, our responsibility is also bigger," he said, adding for a prosperous India, we will have to take everyone along.
The voting was staggered between April 11 and May 19 in which around 67 per cent of the nearly 900 million eligible people exercised their franchise to elect 542 members of the Lok Sabha from a total of 8,049 contestants.바카라 웹사이트
