With the mission, India has joined a small and exclusive club of countries that have managed to soft land on the Moon after US, Russia and China.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi while lauding the efforts of the ISRO scientists said: “This is historic movement and sounds the bugle for a developed India”.
He added: "When we see such historic moments it makes us very proud. This is the dawn of new India."
ISRO chief S Somanath was also elated about the historic achievement.
