The weather is pleasant and a good Sunday game can be expected in Perth. The sunshine is bright and players would like to enjoy the Australian summer. It will be relatively hotter during the second session. The temperature might go around 33 degrees Celsius.

Devdutt Padikkal lost his wicket on the first delivery of the second session on Day 3. Josh Hazlewood brought some luck with him when he got Padikkal caught in the second slip by Steven Smith. Umpires checked the catch but it was fine. Virat Kohli is the new batter at the crease.

Yashasvi Jaiswal took a single off Mitchell Starc to complete his fourth 150-plus score in Test cricket. This is his first Test match in Australia and he already has a 150-plus score under his name. Earlier, he survived a run-out chance when Travis Head mishit the ball.

Yashasvi Jaiswal's long and gritty knock came to an end when he was caught at the point by Steven Smith on Mitch Marsh's delivery. He could have hit it anywhere but it went directly into the hands of Smith. Rishabh Pant came and showed his intentions on the first ball he faced.

Rishabh Pant failed to execute what he was trying but Nathan Lyon got the better of him this time. Pant was trying to go big from the first ball and Australian captain Pat Cummins noticed that. He called back Lyon and he baited him with a wide delivery. He jumped onto that and missed completely. India lost their fourth wicket as Dhruv Jurel joined Virat Kohli at the crease.

Half of the Indian team is back in the pavilion after three back-to-back wickets. Dhruv Jurel is the newest guy who failed to understand the demand of the hour and lost his wicket. He was caught in front of the wickets by Pat Cummins. He took the DRS but it was three reds. Washington Sundar is the new batter at the crease.

Jasprit Bumrah opened the bowling attack of India and Australian openers Nathan McSweeney and Usman Khawaja came to bat. Bumrah got McSweeney LBW out and provided the first breakthrough for India. Pat Cummins came at number three as nightwatchman for Australia.

Mohammed Siraj continued his attack from the other end and got rid of the Australian captain Pat Cummins on the first delivery of his second over. Marnus Labuschagne is the new batter at the crease.

Jasprit Bumrah targeted Marnus Labuschagne's wickets but he kept going outside and he did the same but this time the ball hit his pads. He had not offered any shot, hence the impact wouldn't be a problem. The umpire gave that LBW out but Labuschagne took a DRS and the decision remained same.

AUS - 12/3 (4.2)

Day 3 ended with Marnus Labuschagne's wicket. One may have questioned if it was right to declare after Virat Kohli's century. But the Indian captain proved his decision right by striking twice in just 4.2 overs of play. He dismissed the opener batter Nathan McSweeney and Marnus Labuschagne to get India in the front seat. Australia are three wickets down and still need 522 runs to win this match which seems a difficult task considering their batting in the first inning. But the wicket is better to bat now. India will try to take seven more wickets on the fourth day when they come tomorrow.
