Because of all the overs lost, play is scheduled to begin at 5:20am IST instead of 5:50am IST on all four remaining days of the third Test. The India vs Australia match will be live streamed on the Disney+Hotstar app and website in India, and telecast on the Star Sports Network in India.

Some good leaves from Nathan McSweeney to begin the second day for Australia and Akash Deep perhaps needs to make the Australians play a little more. Not a bad over though. Only run for Australia coming from a front foot no ball.

He threatened to do it in the previous over but failed. This time though, Bumrah gets his man. Good length ball on the fifth stump line, moves away from Khawaja who is totally opened up and can only nick the ball back to the wicketkeeper. Short of a good length delivery, draws McSweeney a little forward but the ball moves just a little away from the batter. Bowling change from the other end as well, Nitish Kumar Reddy gets the ball instead of Akash Deep who also bowled really well and came quite close to earning a wicket. In 9 overs, he has given just 20 runs with four maidens but no wicket to his name so far.

Big appeal from India but the umpire turns it down. Siraj pins Smith on the front pad with the ball angling into the batter sharply. India decide against the review and it is the right decision. Labuschagne is gone and India get their third wicket. Nice spell of pressure bowling from Reddy and Siraj and it is the former who reaps the reward for it. Overpitch ball, outside off and Labuschagne goes for a big drive but edges it to the slips where Kohli takes another sharp catch.

Travis Head is the new man in. And he is in no hurry as of now. Sees off the last four balls of the Reddy over and now we will have Mohammed Siraj from the other end.

Umpire's call to the rescue of Smith! Big moment for Australia and they will be relieved. Siraj brings the ball back into the shuffling Steve Smith who once again is hit around the knee roll. A loud appeal but the umpire is unmoved. Siraj is absolutely confident and manages to convince Rohit to take the review but it ends up clipping the stumps.

Siraj leaves the field. Just two balls into his 11th over, Siraj is walking off the field. Seems like an issue with his hamstring. It will be a massive blow for India if he does not return. Akash Deep to complete his over.

Jasprit Bumrah is back into the attack just before lunch. We will see some fiery bowling from the Indian pace spearhead. Perhaps some bouncers to Head as well.

Head gets a boundary. A bit overpitched from Bumrah and Head just has to push it towards extra cover to find the gap and the ball just rolls away to the fence for a four.

Siraj is back on the field. Welcomed by a lot of boos from the crowd. So, seems like no major worry for India. Only few minutes left for lunch.

First session is done. India would be really happy with what they have done so far. Plenty of play and misses, some really good appeals and three wickets. Bumrah with the wickets of overnight openers Usman Khawaja (21), Nathan McSweeney (9) and then Nitish Kumar Reddy took out Marnus Labschagne (12). Travis Head (20*) is currently in the middle alongside Steve Smith (25*).

Second session underway now. Akash Deep with the ball and Steve Smith is the man on strike. Travis Head on the non-striker's end. Australia need a partnership and India want that not to happen. Interesting session coming up.

Bumrah and Akash Deep are bowling for India from the two ends. They have both kept it tight. Bumrah has looked threatening throughout but Akash Deep too has been really good so far.

18th Test half-century for Travis Head and India are yet again being frustrated by the left-hander. He takes just 71 balls for the half-century. Siraj has just come into the attack replacing Akash Deep and he begins with a short ball. Head pulls it hard and gets a couple to cross the half-century mark. Australia are now finding runs a bit more easily.

In fact, he has looked uncomfortable throughout his stay at the crease but he has managed to stand on the wicket. Crucial runs for him and the Australian team. We are now in the final session of the play. After early wickets, India have not been able to penetrate deep into the Australian batting line-up and it is yet again Travis Head who is the roadblock. Steve Smith is giving Head good company and Australia are in the driver's seat right now. India really need wickets.

Runs just flowing post tea. Smith and Head are piling up the pressure and Indian bowlers are losing plot. 35 runs conceded by India in the four overs since the tea break. Head is going berserk and Smith is getting his runs as well. Things not looking good for India.

33rd Test ton for the great man. He was really struggling in this series and finally he has runs. The crowd is raucous but Smith does not celebrate it all that much. The raise of the bat to all corners of the ground. His 10th century against India.

Yet again it is Jasprit Bumrah who comes up with the breakthrough. Massive relief for Rohit Sharma and all the Indian fans. Smith is gone for 101 and after a partnership of 241 runs, Australia lose their fourth wicket. It was full and outside off, Smith went for a drive and edged it to slips where Rohit Sharma took a sharp catch. New ball works for India.

Another one for Bumrah. His fourth of the day. Good length delivery around the off stump. Marsh's foot goes nowhere as he fishes for the ball. Edge and taken by Kohli in the second slip. Some delight for India towards the end of the day.

Bumrah has turned the game on its head. And suddenly, it seems it was not that bad a day for India. Bumrah's brilliance. This was a full delivery with some width. Head threw his bat at it but only manages an edge into the mitts of Rishabh Pant behind the wicket. Five wickets for Bumrah and an excellent innings from Travis Head now comes to an end.

An eventful day. Jasprit Bumrah was the star for India as he dismissed both openers early on to put Australia under pressure. Travis Head and Steve Smith then combined for a terrific partnership which took Australia over 300. Both Smith and Head slammed centuries before Bumrah returned to dismiss both alongside Mitch Marsh to complete his fifer. Australia have crossed 400 but have just three wickets left.
