Ranji Trophy Semi-Finals, Day 2 Highlights: Mumbai In Trouble Vs Vidarbha; Azharuddeen라이브 바카라 Ton Puts Kerala In Command Against Gujarat

Welcome to the live coverage of the ongoing semifinals of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25. Mumbai are playing Vidarbha and Gujarat are up against Kerala. Stay tuned for Day 2 updates.

Vidarbha ended Day 1 at 308 for five, having batted for 88 overs against Mumbai in Nagpur. Yash Rathod (47 not out) and skipper Akshay Wadkar (13 not out) were the overnight batters, and for the visitors, Shams Mulani and Shivam Dube claimed two wickets apiece. Over in Ahmedabad, Kerala slowly and steadily got to 206 for the loss of four wickets in 89 overs against Gujarat. Captain Sachin Baby (69 not out) and Mohammed Azharuddeen (30 not out) will resume batting for the tourists on Day 2.

Both Kerala and Vidarbha will be looking to bat long and put some pressure on the opposition.

Kerala lose an early wicket, and it is certainly not the start they would have expected. Nagwaswalla provides the crucial breakthrough, in just the second over of Day 2. Kerala are five down.

Kerala - 206/5 Vs Gujarat

Shardul Thakur has picked his first wicket, and it has come at a very important time for Mumbai as a well-set Yash Rathod walks back after scoring a fifty.

Vidarbha - 325/6 Vs Mumbai

Another one bites the dust, and this time it is Akshay Wadkhar. Dias bowls a short one, taking it away from the batter and also manages to brush the glove along the way. Vidarbha in trouble now, having lost seven.

Azharudden has been doing the hard yards and now has a Ranji Trophy semi-final fifty to his name. Can the Kerala batter push with five wickets in hand to help Kerala inch closer to 300 and beyond? Azhar gets his 50 in 106 deliveries.

And that's that for Vidarbha. They have been bowled out for 383 as Shivam Dube picks up a five-for. Anand, Mhatre open for Mumbai as Darshan Nalkande starts the proceedings with the ball for Vidarbha.

Kerala have been brilliant so far after losing Sachin early. Salman and Azharuddeen have nicely settled in and the partnership is now 78. They are also closing in on 300, with five wickets still in hand. The surface has also flattened out a bit.

Azharuddeen scores his hundred, and what a time to score his first hundred of the seaon. In another semi-final Lad and Anand are slowly starting to stitch partnership to help Mumbai towards fifty.

Mohammed Azharuddeen is unbeaten on 109, while Salman Nizar is closing in on his fifty. Kerala are now in a strong position, having scored 331 for the loss of five wickets.

Mohammed Azharuddeen is the first-ever Kerala batter to score a ton in a Ranji Trophy semi-final, and it could not have come at a much valuable time for his side.

Salman Nizar has been finally dismissed for 52, and Kerala lose their sixth wicket. Vishal Jayswal gets his first for the innings. A fine partnership has been finally broken. However, Kerala still have Azharuddeen at the other end.

Ajinkya Rahane survives a close call after being trapped leg before wicket. The umpire raised his finger but the buzzer is off as Yash Thakur has overstepped. Relife for Rahane, relief for Mumbai.

Mumbai are in a spot of bother now. Ajinkya Rahane, Suryakumar Yadav, and Shivam Dube have all walked back to the pavilion. They are six down for 118.

MUM 118/6, VID - 383-10 (107.5)

Azharuddeen has been brilliant for Kerala. The right-hander unbeaten on 134 runs, and his partnership with Imran is 36. Kerala will be thrillied with how the day has panned out so far, especially after losing a wicket early on.

Mumbai are in serious, serious trouble now. They have lost seven wickets and have nowhere to hide, still trailing Vidarbha by 195 runs. They will need to pull off a miracle to get out of this hole.

MUM 188/7 (58) Vs Vidarbha

The short-ball tactic finally pays off for Vidarbha. The bowlers kept testing Shardul with the bouncers, and he eventually gave in, taking it on but only managing to sky it straight to Nalkande at deep square leg. Vidarbha tighten their grip on the match. Mumbai 178/7, still 205 runs behind.
