Bengaluru FC Vs Mohammedan SC Highlights, ISL 2024-25: BFC 0-1 MSC; Black Panthers Win Via Late Kasimov Goal

Welcome to the live coverage of the Indian Super League 2024-25. Today, Bengaluru FC host Mohammedan Sporting in a clash of two teams at the extremes of the points table.

The two teams had faced each other in a thrilling encounter earlier this season where Bengaluru FC emerged as winners. The Blues had defeated Mohammedan SC 2-1.

Bengaluru FC have a chance to do a double over a Kolkata club for the first time since the 2018-19 season, when they defeated ATK twice.

Bengaluru FC are currently second in the league standings with 27 points from 14 matches. Mohammedan SC, on the other hand, are bottom in the table with just seven points from 14 games and are struggling to find the back of the net, having scored only five goals this season.

For Mohammedan SC, this is an opportunity to end their five-game goalless run in the league, which is the joint-third longest such streak in ISL history.

42' Padam Chhetri continues to save Mohammedan SC. A loopy ball into the box and Ogier could not read the bounce right. The ball deflected from Ogier's foot and was lobbing into the goal before Padam lobs the ball above the goal post.

First half ends. A frustrating first half for Bengaluru FC where they came close to scoring quite a few times but could not. Mohammedan SC would be happy with their defensive play but they too came close to get off the mark. Exciting second half coming up.

Second half begins. Both teams locked at 0-0 so far. Let us see who can open the scoring.

49' Mohammedan SC fans will be disappointed with that. The shot from Alexis Gomez has hit the post and the visitors have once again been denied as Gurpreet Singh Sandhu continues to keep a clean sheet. If he manages to keep a clean sheet, it will be his 50th in the ISL.

58' Sunil Chhetri has been denied now. Padam Chhetri is standing tall in the Mohammedan Sporting goal post tonight. A brilliant performance so far. It was a right footed shot from the centre of the box by Sunil Chhetri and Padam makes a good save in the bottom left corner.

60' Ryan Williams misses. Bengaluru miss another chance to get the lead. A frustrating evening. Williams aims from long range but it is high and wide.

66' Sunil Chhetri goes back on the bench. He got some chances and even tried a bicycle kick but nothing came out of it. Shivaldo Singh replaces Sunil Chhetri.

75' Chinglensana Konsham's header is a little high and Bengaluru fail to score yet again. The Blues have upped the ante but the scoreline remains 0-0. It was a corner for Bengaluru FC, taken by Jorge Pereyra Díaz who dings Chinglensena in the centre of the six-yard box but the header is not on target.

88' Mohammedan SC score first goal!!!

Mirjalol Kasimov does it for Mohammedan SC. And we are minutes away from what would be an excellent result for the league. The bottom-placed team has taken the lead against the second-placed Bengaluru FC. Kasimov shot his free kick right inside the net and Mohammedan SC are delighted.

BFC 0-1 MSC at full-time!

Mohammedan SC beat Bengaluru FC 1-0. M Kasimov scored in the 88th minute to give Mohammedan the lead against the run of play and they managed to hold on to it. Just the second win of the season for the Black Panthers and they have upstaged one of the best teams of the league. For Bengaluru FC, it is a shocking defeat. They were dominating all the while and now will rue the missed chances.
