A really soft penalty conceded by Mumbai City in the 40th minute, as Ryan Williams goes down seemingly easily in the box. The Islanders protest the decision, and goalie Phurba Lachenpa is booked as a result. As if the Kanteerava crowd didn't already have enough reason to rejoice, their favourite son Sunil Chhetri scores with a delicious right-footer to send them into raptures. The night keeps getting better for the Blues, who are now 4-0 up and as good as into the semis.

The thrashing continues. Mumbai City have nowhere to hide as substitute Jorge Pereyra Diaz latches onto an Alberto Noguera assist to drill it in. Absolute champagne football from the Blues, who are now just having fun with it.

Mumbai City' are finally put out of their misery as the full-time whistle is blown and Bengaluru finish the match with a thumping 5-0 win to storm into the semi-finals. Wild celebrations get underway at the Kanteerava, even as some Islanders, including Vikram Partap Singh, can barely hold back their tears.

The next playoff game in the Indian Super League features NorthEast United, who finished fourth in the league phase, up against Jamshedpur FC, placed fifth in the standings. The match will be played at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Shillong on Sunday at 7:30pm IST. The winner of this clash will book a semi-final date with Mohun Bagan.

With tonight's landslide victory, Bengaluru FC have sealed their last-four berth. They will host FC Goa at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium on April 2 at 7:30pm IST.
