The Gunners will take on Eddie Howe's side at home in the first leg, while Spurs will welcome the Premier League leaders to north London before returning to Anfield.

Liverpool have won this competition in two of the last three seasons and progressed to this stage by beating Southampton 2-1 at St Mary's on Wednesday.

Tottenham, meanwhile, are aiming to win silverware for the first time since lifting this trophy in 2008.

They edged out Manchester United by a 4-3 scoreline in a thrilling quarter-final on Thursday, with Son Heung-min scoring what proved to be the winner direct from a corner.

Arsenal are aiming to land their first trophy since winning the FA Cup in 2020 and take on a Newcastle side desperate to end the club's 69-year wait for silverware.

Arsenal beat Crystal Palace 3-2 after falling behind in their quarter-final tie on Wednesday, while Newcastle beat Brentford 3-1.

The semi-final first legs will be played in the week commencing January 6 before the return ties are played in the week of February 3.
