With the Delhi assembly elections a few weeks away, Chief Minister and AAP candidate from Kalkaji, Atishi, has launched a crowdfunding campaign to contest the election.

Addressing a press conference in Delhi, the Chief Minister launched a crowdfunding campaign and released an online link for people to donate money.

As per Atishi, she needs around Rs 40 lakh to fight the elections. Speaking to reporters, she shared that AAP has always fought elections with the help of small donations from the common man.

"Over the past 5 years, you've stood by me as an MLA, a minister, and now as the Chief Minister of Delhi. None of this would have been possible without your blessings and support," she wrote on X.

"As a young, educated woman, your belief and donations have enabled me to imagine a career in politics—a path I couldn’t have walked alone. Now, as we face another election campaign, I need your support once again,” she added, kicking off the campaign.

A similar campaign was launched by Jangpura candidate Manish Sisodia.

Delhi will head to the polls on February 5, 2025, in a single phase. Around 1.55 crore people are expected to cast their vote across the 70 assembly constituencies. The counting of votes and results will be declared on February 8.

The contest is between three key parties - the Aam Aadmi Party, the BJP and Congress. AAP, which has been in power since 2013, is eyeing a third term as the NCT government.
