BJP's mayoral candidates have registered big gains in the Haryana Municipal elections 2025. The ruling BJP swept the civic polls in the state on Wednesday, bagging nine of the ten mayoral seats while the Manesar seat went to independent candidate Dr. Inderjeet Yadav.
The Indian National Congress, on the other hand, did not manage to secure any wins.
Haryana went to polls on March 2, 2025 to elect mayor and ward members across seven Municipal corporations as well as presidents and ward members for four Municipal Councils and 21 Municipal Committees.
The municipal polls were held after the state assembly elections in October 2024 in which BJP saw a landslide victory.

BJP Sees Big Wins, Independent Wins Manesar
For the mayoral posts, BJP candidates registered emphatic wins in Ambala, Faridabad, Gurugram, Hisar, Karnal, Rohtak, Sonipat, Yamunanagar and Panipat defeating their nearest Congress rivals.
In Manesar, Independent candidate Inderjeet Yadav defeated her nearest BJP rival Sunder Lal by a margin of 2,293 votes to become the corporation's first-ever mayor.
The BJP was met with a fierce contest from independent candidates. For instance, in Manesar, where municipal elections were held for the first time, Independent candidate Inderjeet Yadav won by a margin of 2,293 votes, defeating BJP candidate Sunder Lal.
Yadav thanked the people of Manesar for her victory and said she will take up several burning issues pertaining to her area on priority once she assumes office.
In the Loharu wards, the majority of the winners have been Independent candidates.
In Mahendragarh, Independent candidate Rimpi Kumari was declared the chairperson of Kanina Municipal Committee after she won by 566 votes against fellow Independent Suman Choudhary.
26 Unopposed Winners
Meanwhile, around 26 candidates have been elected unopposed. As per reports, Kuldeep Singh from Faridabad, Vikas Yadav from Gurugram, Sankalp Bhandari and Sanjeev Kumar Mehta from Karnal, and Bhavna from Yamunanagar, were elected unopposed and will represent their respective wars in the municipal corporations.
