RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Sunday rejected claims that the BJP's sweeping victory in the Delhi assembly elections would have a bearing on the upcoming elections in Bihar, where polls are expected later this year.
Yadav, the leader of the opposition in the Bihar assembly, pointed out that the BJP라이브 바카라 return to power in Delhi after nearly 26 years makes it crucial for the party to deliver on the promises it made to the people.
“In a democracy, the people are supreme (janta maalik hai). The BJP has been voted to power after nearly 26 years. Hopefully, promises made to the people will be fulfilled and there will not be empty rhetoric (jumlebaazi),” he said.
The remarks came in response to a question about the BJP's victory in Delhi, where the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), a member of the INDIA bloc, was ousted. Yadav emphasized that the results in Delhi were local in nature and would not affect the political climate in Bihar, where the RJD has consistently performed well in the last two assembly elections.
When asked about the BJP and its allies’ claims that the upcoming elections in Bihar would favor the NDA, Yadav responded with a hint of sarcasm, saying, “Bihar is Bihar. It needs to be understood (Bihar Bihar hai... samajhna padega).”
The BJP-led NDA alliance in Bihar is headed by JD(U) supremo Nitish Kumar, who has served as the state라이브 바카라 chief minister since 2005, barring a brief period when Jitan Ram Manjhi held the position.
Nitish Kumar is set to run for a fifth consecutive term in office in the upcoming elections, which are expected to see heated contestations, especially with the RJD라이브 바카라 strong presence in the state.
