Hours after a massive earthquake of 7.7 magnitude hit Myanmar, the country witnessed a second aftershock with 4.4 magnitude on the Richter scale on Friday.
Two strong earthquakes rocked Myanmar on Friday with the first earthquake of 7.7 magnitude that struck around 11:50am near the city of Mandalay, with tremors felt across Thailand and in China.
A strong aftershock of 6.4 magnitude also struck Myanmar, where three people died after a mosque collapsed, reported CNN.
Myanmar라이브 바카라 military-run government declared a state of emergency in six regions and states including the capital Naypyitaw and Mandalay, but with the country in the midst of a prolonged bloody civil war it was not clear how help would get to many regions, said Associated Press.
The Red Cross reportedly said downed power lines are adding to challenges for their teams trying to reach Mandalay and Sagaing regions and southern Shan state.
Red Cross was quoted by AP who said, “Initial reports from the ground suggest the earthquake has caused significant damage.”
