Russia Confirms General Yaroslav Moskalik Killed In Car Explosion In Moscow

The bombing came just as US President Donald Trump's envoy Steve Witkoff was expected to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow to discuss a U.S.-brokered peace plan for Ukraine.

Russia's Investigative Committee has reportedly confirmed that the main federal investigating authority in the country, General Yaroslav Moskalik was killed in an explosion in Moscow.

Russian Investigations Committee spokeswoman Svetlana Petrenko was quoted by BBC confirming the news, “A Volkswagen Golf exploded after an improvised explosive device stuffed with pellets went off.”

This is second such attack on a top Russian military officer in four months.

The bombing came just as US President Donald Trump's envoy Steve Witkoff was expected to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow to discuss a US-brokered peace plan for Ukraine. The meeting is their fourth encounter since February.

Who Is General Yaroslav Moskalik?

Lt. Gen. Yaroslav Moskalik is a deputy head of the main operational department in the General Staff of the Russian armed forces.

What Happened?

According to Russian Investigations Committee, Moskalik was killed by an explosive device placed in his car in Balashikha, just outside Moscow.

The committee's spokesperson, Svetlana Petrenko also said that the explosive device was rigged with shrapnel.

She said that investigators were at the scene.

Similar Attacks In The Past

The attack follows the killing of Lt. Gen. Igor Kirillov, who died on Dec. 17 when a bomb hidden on an electric scooter parked outside his apartment building exploded as he left for his office.

The Russian authorities blamed Ukraine for the killing of Kirillov, and Ukraine's security agency acknowledged that it was behind that attack.

Kirillov was the chief of Russia라이브 바카라 Radiation, Biological and Chemical Protection Forces, the special troops tasked with protecting the military from the enemy라이브 바카라 use of nuclear, chemical or biological weapons and ensuring operations in a contaminated environment. Kirillov라이브 바카라 assistant also died in the attack.

Russia US Meeting On Ceasefire

Russia라이브 바카라 Foreign Minister stated on April 24th said that Moscow is prepared to reach an agreement regarding the ongoing war in Ukraine, following a rare appeal from former US President Donald Trump to halt military attacks.

“We are ready to reach a deal, but there are still some specific points which need to be fine-tuned, and we are busy with this,” said Sergei Lavrov in an interview with CBS news.

Trump라이브 바카라 representative, Steve Witkoff, is scheduled to visit Russia on Friday for another round of ceasefire discussions with President Vladimir Putin. Lavrov described the talks as progressing in a positive direction and confirmed that negotiations with Washington would continue.

He noted that the US president was “probably the only leader on Earth who recognized the need to address the root causes of this situation,” but added that Trump “did not spell out the elements of the deal.”
