After the train hijack last week, another terror attack has struck the Balochistan region of Pakistan. As per local reports, a blast near a passenger bus on Nushki-Dalbandin highway has killed at least five people.
Reports have further added that around 14 have been injured due to the incident.
As per police, the injured have been shifted to Nushki Hospital for treatment. Two of the injured are in critical condition.
Meanwhile, reports said that the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the attack, alleging 90 personnel were killed. In a statement, the group said its Majeed Brigade carried out a vehicle-borne suicide bombing on a convoy traveling along the RCD Highway near Rakhshan Mill.
One of the eight buses was completely destroyed in the blast, it added.
The group further claimed its fighters later surrounded another bus and killed all personnel on board.
Pakistan-based Geo TV reported that an emergency has been declared at Mir Gul Khan Naseer Teaching Hospital to handle the situation.
The cause of the blast or its nature is under investigation. No militant group has come forward to claim responsibility for the attack.
Last week, the Baloch Liberation Army hijacked the Jaffar Express with at least 380 passengers on board. The operation lasted for two days, during which security forces rescued 354 hostages and killed all 33 BLA insurgents.
At least 64 people, including 18 soldiers and 33 attackers, were killed in the attack, and 38 others were injured.
