A strong earthquake struck central Myanmar on Friday, also affecting Bangkok, earthquake monitoring services said, Reuters reported. Meanwhile, tremors were also felt in Delhi-NCR.
According to the National Center for Seismology, the earthquake hit at around 11.50 am at a depth of 10 km.
Earlier on Thursday, a mild earthquake of 3.5 magnitude hit Singrauli town of Madhya Pradesh. The epicentre of the earthquake was at 24.21 degrees north, 82.57 degrees east and at a depth of 5 kilometres.
There was no immediate comment from Myanmar on the extent of damage following the quake. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) said the quake had a magnitude of 7.7 and was epicentered at a depth of 10 km (6.2 miles).
