US President-elect Donald Trump addressed his first rally since winning the November elections on Sunday. During this rally, the Republican leader made several statements, including one in which he suggested the United States purchase Greenland.
Employing his usual aggressiveness, Trump also sent a "message" to tech mogul Elon Musk as he shut down all rumours of a "Musk presidency". Here are some of the key takeaways from Trump's first rally as president-elect.
Trump Shuts Down 'Musk Presidency'
Since Trump's victory and the appointment of Elon Musk as one of the chiefs of the Department of Government Efficiency, Democrats have criticised Trump and called his presidency a run for Elon Musk.
However, speaking at the rally in Arizona, Trump clearly stated that Elon Musk is "not going to be US President".
"We will create a new department of government efficiency headed by Elon Musk. And no, he라이브 바카라 not taking the presidency. They are on a new kick. Trump further stressed that Musk cannot be president of the United States. " You know why he can’t be? He wasn’t born in this country," he said.
Despite his contribution to the US and his role in the country, Musk is not a natural-born US citizen. The Tesla and SpaceX CEO was born in South Africa.
Sriram Krishan Named Trump's AI Advisor
Indian-American entrepreneur Sriram Krishan has been named as a senior policy advisor in the Trump 2.0 cabinet for Artificial Intelligence.
"Sriram Krishnan will serve as the Senior Policy Advisor for Artificial Intelligence at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy,” said Trump as he announced a number of appointments on artificial intelligence or AI.
“Working closely with David Sacks, Sriram will focus on ensuring continued American leadership in AI and help shape and coordinate AI policy across government, including working with the President라이브 바카라 Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. Sriram started his career at Microsoft as a founding member of Windows Azure,” Trump said.
Krishnan has previously led product teams at Microsoft, Twitter, Yahoo!, Facebook and Snap and now will work along with David O. Sacks who will be the White House AI & Crypto Czar.
After Panama Canal, Trump Hints At Greenland Purchase
After naming PayPal co-founder Ken Howery as the next US Ambassador to Denmark, Donald Trump hinted as the US purchasing Greenland.
The US president-elect's remarks come after he stated he wants the US to control the Panama Canal.
"For purposes of National Security and Freedom throughout the World, the United States of America feels that the ownership and control of Greenland is an absolute necessity. "Ken will do a wonderful job in representing the interests of the United States. Thank you Ken, and congratulations!" wrote Trump on TruthSocial.
Despite being a part of Denmark, Greenland has a home-rule government and is not governed by the Danish Royal Family but recognises Queen Margrethe II as its ceremonial head of state.
