Union minister Piyush Goyal has said that as long as all 140 crore Indians do not consider patriotism and nationalism as their param dharma, Pahalgam-type incidents will continue to trouble the nation.

He emphasised that such acts would never break India's spirit.

Speaking to reporters here on Friday, Goyal asserted that the conviction of the people would ensure the resumption of tourism in Kashmir soon, and pilgrims will continue their Amarnath Yatra.

He said India's rising global stature was troubling certain forces.

"These incidents represent the desperate last efforts of those powers. It is an unbearable attack, but we will not spare anyone," the Union Commerce Minister added.

"As long as all 140 crore Indians do not consider patriotism and nationalism as their param dharma, such types of incidents will continue to trouble our country. However, India has enough strength to give a befitting response," the minister said.

The security forces are going after the known terrorist associates and their sympathisers across the length and breadth of the Valley, with an aim to create a deterrent against any Pahalgam-like attacks, the officials said.

Houses of five terrorists or their associates have been demolished in the past 48 hours with officials saying similar action will be taken against others involved in terror activities.

One alleged OWG was killed in firing by terrorists during one such operation in Bandipora district on Friday, officials said.

Mobile vehicle check-points have been put up across the district to monitor any suspicious movement, the officials said.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is "fooling people" with regard to the Pahalgam terror strike in Jammu and Kashmir.

The chief minister also said the prime minister did not attend the all-party meeting conveyed by the Centre, post the attack, but took part in an election rally in Bihar.

"The prime minister should have been there during the all-party meeting. He had gone to electioneering in Bihar. So what is important to him? He is putting ‘Topi’ (hat) on people (meaning fooling people)," Siddaramaiah told reporters here.

He was responding to a query of India라이브 바카라 response to the terror attack.

The chief minister said, "There is no need for war. We are not in favour of it. We should take stringent measures. That라이브 바카라 it. Security should be beefed up." There should be peace in the country. People should be protected and the Centre should initiate security measures, he added.

To a question about the union government's directives to states to send back Pakistani nationals, the CM said, "We will cooperate. We will send back the Pakistani nationals and inform the Centre about it. Right now, we do not have information about the number of Pakistanis residing in Karnataka." According to the CM, Pakistani nationals are in the major cities of the state, but most of them are in Bengaluru.

Siddaramaiah reiterated that the Pahalgam terror strike was the outcome of security lapse.

 Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis met the families of Kaustubh Ganbote and Santosh Jagdale, who were killed in the Pahalgam terror attack, in Pune on Saturday afternoon.

He first visited Ganbote's residence in Kondhwa and spoke to the deceased Punekar's wife Sangita, who survived the attack in the northern Union Territory.

Ganbote, who owned a 'farsan' (snacks) business, had gone to Kashmir along with his wife Sangita and the family of close friend Santosh Jagdale.

After meeting Ganbote, Fadnavis then headed to Jagdale's residence in Karvenagar. The CM spoke to Jagdale's daughter Asavari and wife Pratibha.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh each to the families of the three persons from the state killed in the Pahalgam terror attack and to the next of kin of the Army havilder killed in Udhampur encounter.

She added that the state government would also offer a job to the wife of Havildar Jhantu Ali Shaikh from Tehatta in Nadia district.

Banerjee said the state government would provide Rs 10,000 pension to the father of Bitan Adhikari, one of the Pahalgam victims.

"A monthly pension of Rs 10,000 will be provided to Adhikari's father. The Rs 10 lakh compensation for the family will be divided equally, with Rs 5 lakh going to his wife and Rs 5 lakh to his parents," she said.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting issues an advisory to all media channels to refrain from showing live coverage of defence operations and movement of security forces.

TMC leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sagarika Ghose spoke about the Pahalgam terrorist attack, "There is an important question regarding Pahalgam attack. During the all-party meeting, Modi government especially Amit Shah said to Opposition that Baisaran meadow (where the attack happened) was opened without police permission. It is not truth, the truth is Baisaran meadow has been open since 2020, there is no permission of police required for its use. That means that Modi government and HM Amit Shah are trying escape from their responsibility. The truth is that Modi government has made J&K an Union Territory, the office of L-G is responsible for the law and order, the office of L-G works under Home Minister, Home Ministry. Modi government and Amit Shah cannot run away from accountability."

Reacting to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari's 'either our water will flow or their blood' remark as India decides for suspension of Indus Water Treaty, All India Imam Association President Sajid Rashidi says, "Time will only tell whose blood will flow, they should now think about the water surgical strike that has happened, they will be struggling for a drop of water. Pakistan doesn't have the strength to look towards India. They should first fix their problem, Shia-Sunni fight happens. I want to send a message- they should stop these activities, otherwise the Muslims of India are ready to stop these activities. We only need the nod of the government, 'Pakistan me ghus ke marenge' (we will break into Pakistan to attack them), then we will see what is jihad."

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Saturday that three more persons were apprehended for their alleged pro-Pakistan stand in the wake of the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, taking the total number of such arrests in the northeastern state to 11.

He also said that if required, these people will be booked under the National Security Act (NSA).

"There are no similarities between Bharat and Pakistan. The two countries are enemy nations and we must remain like that," Sarma told PTI.

More than 1,000 illegal Bangladeshi immigrants, including women and children, were detained following combing operations in Ahmedabad and Surat, and efforts were underway for their deportation, Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghavi said on Saturday.

At least 890 Bangladeshis were detained in Ahmedabad and 134 in Surat, in what the minister termed as the biggest operation of its kind by the Gujarat police to date, PTI reported.

CPI(M)'s Rajya Sabha MP A A Rahim on Saturday wrote to Union Home Minister Amit Shah seeking his urgent intervention to protect Kashmiri students and traders allegedly facing threats in various states of the country.

"In Dehradun, students were forced to vacate hostels after threats from communal groups. Many others are living in fear as social media is being used to incite hate against Kashmiri students and traders.

"These atrocities against innocent students and traders are unacceptable and undermine our national unity," the Rajya Sabha MP said.

As many as 55 Pakistani nationals living in Maharashtra on short-term visas have been asked to leave the country by the Central government's deadline of April 27, an official from the state home department said on Saturday.

Tensions between India and Pakistan have escalated after the Pahalgam terror attack, in which 26 persons, most of them tourists, lost their lives earlier this week.

The External Affairs and Home ministries have issued instructions that Pakistani nationals leave India by April 27, the official told PTI.

According to Geo News, Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir defended himself saying that Pakistan is prepared to defend itself.

"The attack that happened in Pahalgam is very bad, we can never imagine that this can happen, the whole country is upset. Our government is investigating this thoroughly, our Prime Minister will definitely give a reply to this, he will definitely do something about this...," BJP MP Hema Malini said.

Addressing a graduation ceremony at the Pakistan Military Academy in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's Kakul, Prime Minister Sharif said that his country is open to taking part in a "credible" investigation. 

"The recent tragedy in Pahalgam is yet another example of this perpetual blame game, which must come to a grinding halt. Continuing with its role as a responsible country, Pakistan is open to participating in any neutral, transparent and credible investigation," Shehbaz Sharif said. 

The Resistance Front (TRF), the shadow group of the banned Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), has denied any role in the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 people, mostly tourists.

A statement released by The Resistance Front (TRF) said, "The Resistance Front (TRF) unequivocally denies any involvement in the Pahalgam Incident. Any attribution of this act to TRF is false, hasty, and part of an orchestrated campaign to malign the Kashmiri resistance."

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has threatened that blood would flow in rivers if water is stopped, in a sharp response to India's decision to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT).

"The Indus is ours and will remain ours - either our water will flow through it, or their blood," the former foreign minister was quoted as saying by The News on Friday while addressing a public rally in the Sukkur area of his home Sindh province.

Bilawal said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has claimed India is heir to a civilisation thousands of years old, "But that civilisation lies in Mohenjo-daro, in Larkana. We are its true custodians, and we will defend it."

Bilawal said that Modi cannot sever the aeons-old bond between the people of Sindh and the Indus, adding that "the Indian government has cast its eyes on Pakistan's water, and the situation demands unity among all four provinces to defend and protect their water."

"We will send a message to the world that robbery on the Sindhu won't be accepted."

BJP president J P Nadda on Saturday said India will give a "befitting" reply to those responsible for the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives earlier this week.

Speaking to reporters here after offering prayers to Srimanta Dagdusheth Ganpati, Nadda said the whole country expects Prime Minister Narendra Modi to give a strong response to the attack.

The body of Army Havildar Jhantu Ali Sheikh, who died in an encounter between security forces and terrorists following a search operation in Jammu and Kashmir, was brought to the N S C Bose International Airport late Friday night.

West Bengal Minister Firhad Hakim paid floral tribute to the coffin draped in tricolour as the body was later taken to a mortuary. It will be taken to Sheikh's home in Nadia district on Saturday morning.

A crowd assembled at the airport chanting, "Bharat Matar Veer Santan Jhantu Sheikh Amar Rahe" (India's brave heart Jhantu Sheikh will live forever in our hearts).

After terrorists gunned down his father in Pahalgam, Harshal Lele knew one thing that he had to do: Save his mother and bring her to safety, just what his father would have done.

A vacation to Jammu and Kashmir turned tragic for the Leles and their two extended families. Harshal's father, Sanjay Lele (52), Hemant Joshi (45) and Atul Mone (43), who were cousins, died in the April 22 attack.

"We just finished lunch when we heard the gunshots," Harshal recalled.

"It was my responsibility to save my mother. I put myself in my father's shoes. His first thought would have been to rescue Mom, so I did just that," he said.

"My mother suffers from mild paralysis, so she had difficulty walking. My cousin Dhruv Joshi and I lifted her halfway while navigating the rough and uneven terrain. She slipped in places and was hurt, but we had no choice," Harshal recalled.

"When we reached the base and saw Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel going up to the meadow, we hoped against hope that my father and uncles would be brought out alive. But that did not happen," he said.

The UNSC has “condemned in the strongest terms” the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir.

The 15-nation Council issued a Press Statement on ‘terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’ in which the members “condemned in the strongest terms the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir” on April 22, during which at least 26 people were killed and many more injured.

"The members of the Security Council underlined the need to hold perpetrators, organisers, financiers and sponsors of this reprehensible act of terrorism accountable and bring them to justice,” the press statement said.

"They stressed that those responsible for these killings should be held accountable, and urged all States, in accordance with their obligations under international law and relevant Security Council resolutions, to cooperate actively with all relevant authorities in this regard,” it said.

US President Donald Trump on Friday said there has always been tension between India and Pakistan as ties between the two neighbours further deteriorated after the terror attack in Pahalgam this week that killed 26 people.

"I am very close to India and I'm very close to Pakistan, as you know. And they've had that fight for 1,000 years in Kashmir... Probably longer than that," he told reporters.

"It was a bad one," he said.

"There have been tensions on that border for 1,500 years. So you know, the same as it's been, but they'll get it figured out one way or the other. I'm sure... I know both leaders. There is great tension between Pakistan and India. But there always has been,"Trump added.

The Pakistani military resorted to unprovoked firing all across the Line of Control, and Indian troops effectively responded to them on Saturday, military sources told PTI.

The exchange of fire for a second consecutive night came amid heightened tension between India and Pakistan following Tuesday's Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people, mostly tourists.

As per the reports, the Pakistani troops fired at Indian positions along the Line of Control (LoC) on Thursday night as well, and India had retaliated appropriately.

Following the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam, protests have erupted across the country. On April 22, militants opened fire on a group of tourists in Baisaran valley, killing 25 Indians and one Nepali tourist.

The Candle March was held on the evening of 24 April to condemn the Pahalgam terror attack. One of the locals and tourist from Nagpur Suryaprakash Asawa said, "Jammu and Kashmir people are very helpful."

Muslim communities across India held protests after offering Friday라이브 바카라 congregation prayers to express anguish over the Pahalgam terror attack that killed at least 26 civilians - including one Nepali. They wore black armbands and raised slogans condemning the terrorist attack.

"Muslims of the country are with the families of 26 people who lost their lives in Pahalgam terror attack. Whenever any terror attack happens in the country, Muslims of India always condemn it,” a person said in Kolkata, PTI reported.
