Alexander Zverev got off to a dream start in his quest for a third Madrid Open title, dispatching Roberto Bautista Agut in a dominant 6-2 6-2 victory. ()

Arriving in Madrid fresh off his first title of the season at the Munich Open, Zverev showed no signs of slowing down, cruising through the second-round matchup in just 69 minutes.

Zverev, the top seed, won the title in Madrid in 2018 and 2021 and extended his winning streak to six matches with a comfortable victory.

"[It was] a good match, I knew I had to focus against Roberto," said Zverev, who bolstered his record to 24-5 in Madrid.

"I knew that it was going to be a tough challenge, and I’m very happy with the win."
