After the Centre's move to include caste-based data in the upcoming national census, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi praised the decision, calling it a step in line with his party라이브 바카라 long-standing demand.
Gandhi stated that the Congress's vision on the caste census has now been accepted by the government. He also compared models across states, asserting that the Telangana approach to social justice is stronger than the one adopted in Bihar.
Reaffirming his party라이브 바카라 stance, he emphasized that Congress will ensure the caste census is implemented nationwide and push to remove the 50 percent cap on reservations.
Speaking on the issue, he said the Congress supports the idea of identifying just four broad caste categories, as mentioned by Prime Minister Modi, but demanded clarity on when the census would be conducted.
"We had said in Parliament that we will carry out a caste census and remove the 50% reservation cap,” Gandhi stated, adding, "We fully support the government and are ready to help design the caste census, using models like Telangana라이브 바카라. But the government must give a timeline."
He also said that India needs to go beyond just conducting a caste census and take further steps toward social justice.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said: "I hope they will allot the budget, start the caste and general census, and release the report. It's a long-standing demand of ours. After 2014, when they (the BJP) came to power, they should have made public the 2011 census. They didn't do it. Now, two years back, I wrote a letter for the caste census and the purpose that it will serve."
Caste Census
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said on Wednesday during a cabinet briefing said caste census will be included in the next population census.
“According to the Constitution of India, the Census is a Union Subject. Some states have conducted surveys, I am repeating the word surveys, to enumerate castes. Some states have done this well, while some others have conducted such surveys purely from a political angle in a non-transparent way. Such surveys have created doubts in the state, ” he said while addressing a Cabinet briefing today.
Vaishnaw said, “Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs has decided today that Caste enumeration should be included in the forthcoming census.” The date for its beginning is unknown.
