Following its victory in the Delhi Election 2025, the Bharatiya Janata Party has announced Rekha Gupta as the next Chief Minister of Delhi. The two-time councillor and first-time MLA won from the Shalimar Bagh seat and has vowed to carry out development across the capital, especially under the leadership of PM Modi.

Gupta is the second female BJP leader to be chief minister of Delhi. The first was Sushma Swaraj, who became the chief minister in 1998 after the resignation of Sahib Singh Verma.

Rekha Gupta won the Shalimar Bagh seat with a margin of 29,595 votes, bringing an end to AAP candidate Bandana Kumari's winning streak in the North-West Delhi seat.
