Ben Duckett surpassed Joe Root to become the highest scorer for England in the Champions Trophy. He is nearing his 150 and overtook Root's 133 which he made during the CT 2017 at the Oval. Buttler has started shifting gears with death overs approaching.

Ben Duckett completed his 150 runs and changed gears to collect runs at a better run-rate. Liam Livingstone, who replaced Jos Buttler after his dismissal, continued to rotate strikes but smashed a six when he got the opportunity. There was an opportunity for Australia when umpire gave Livingstone LBW out but he reviewed that and survived.

Over the moon, great win. We knew it was going to be tough coming up against England, it always is. 350 - a lot of things has to go right to chase that down. Really pumped on a personal level. For the guys out there, it was a great performance. There wasn't too much (talk) at the halfway. We'd done a lot of talking before the game. We knew that it was going to be tough with the dew. It was always going to be better for us batting second. He (Carey) doesn't say anything while he bats, just a few words here and there. I was trying not to look at the scoreboard. We just need to keep chipping away. I still think that their part-time options are very handy, Livingstone and Rooty have bowled a lot in international, you can't not respect them. Tried to be proactive. At the back end, we knew it'd skid on nicely. Short, sharp tournament, we'll recover and look forward to the next game.

Australia have defeated England and started their campaign with a thumping win. Despite having an inexperienced bowling lineup, they are the favourites to win this tournament.
