The Men in Blue begin their quest for a third title in the tournament, in which they have also been two-time runners-up and reached the semi-finals on a further five occasions.
India suffered a blow last week when Jasprit Bumrah was ruled out after sustaining a back injury.
Nevertheless, Rohit insists the squad have the credentials to thrive in his absence, including the likes of Axar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar.
"If it's going to be overcast, we have the bowling arsenal to combat that," he said.
"If there are overhead conditions helping the bowlers, we have the bowlers to exploit that. And if we bat in those overhead conditions, the batters know exactly what to do.
"Those three guys - Jadeja, Axar, and Washy - give us a different dimension to the game, our combination, and our squad, and add a lot of depth. That is why we tried to get players who have two skills rather than one."
