Before it's season the bats were checked only on the eve of the matchday. But now, there have been concerns perhaps regarding the change of bats by the batters ahead of the game starting

In just the second match of the 2025 IPL season, Sunrisers Hyderabad blasted their way to 286/6, the second-highest total in IPL history. Since then, big scores have become the norm, with 200+ totals now expected and anything lower often seen as underwhelming. But this growing trend of high scores is raising questions about the balance between bat and ball – and whether the integrity of cricket itself is at stake.  (More Cricket News | Full IPL Coverage)

Reports from the Indian Express suggest that the use of oversized bats may be one of the reasons behind the surge in high team totals. As a result, the 'oversized bat gauge' has been introduced by BCCI in the IPL 2025 season.

Now, not only will opening batters be checked by the fourth umpires, but all players will undergo a check before taking the field, using the gauge tool. Fans may have already seen this being implemented during matches like the Rajasthan Royals vs Royal Challengers Bangaluru on Sunday, April 13.

The tool is a triangle-shaped plastic gauge with prints of a legal bat size on it. The bat라이브 바카라 depth should be 2.68 inches, width 4.33 inches, and edge 1.61 inches. However, the curve or bulge on the lower non-hitting side of the bat should be measured within 0.20 inches

The thicker the bat edges, the higher the chances of the ball sailing over the boundary--even off a mistimed shot.

Before it's season the bats were checked only on the eve of the matchday. But now, there have been concerns regarding the change of bats by the batters ahead of the game starting.

In an interview with the Indian express, IPL chairman Arun Dhumal said the decision was taken to ensure fairness on the field. “Nobody should feel that somebody라이브 바카라 got an undue advantage."

“The BCCI and IPL have always taken all initiatives in this direction so that fairness of the game is maintained. We have used technology to the maximum to make sure that all decisions can be reviewed so that the games don’t get unfairly affected. The idea behind this initiative is to ensure that the spirit of the game is maintained,” Dhumal added.

This isn't the first time in cricket; a similar incident took place during last year라이브 바카라 County Championship when Essex was deducted 12 points from the title race as the England라이브 바카라 cricket regulator found that player Feroze Khushi had used an oversized bat earlier in the season.
