The Windies bowled out Ireland for 175 runs in response to their 182-run target, with Player of the Match Hayley Matthews claiming four wickets. The WI skipper also scored an 18-ball 23 and took three catches to complete a strong all-round display.

Ireland had lost their tournament opener to the hosts Pakistan by a 38 runs defeat to Pakistan in the tournament opener.
West Indies too had suffered an 11-run loss to Scotland in their campaign opener.
