The wicket looks pretty dry, but there could be good bounce. It's well covered with grass and the pitch looks firm. It does look like a very good track, the ball should come on nicely. Toss doesn't really matter with 197 being the average first innings total, local knowledge says that dew could be a factor later on - Murali Kartik and Matthew Hayden, in their pitch report.

Shubman Gill (GT Captain): We will bowl first, as the wicket looks good. The conditions haven’t changed much, and we aim to reduce our unforced errors. We will focus on fine-tuning the areas that need improvement. Unfortunately, Kagiso is missing out due to personal reasons, so we’ve brought back Arshad Khan.

Rajat Patidar (RCB Captain): I would have chosen to bowl first as well because it's a new surface. It's pretty hard and likely won't change much throughout the game. The way the players are contributing gives me a lot of confidence as captain. We really appreciate this crowd; their love and support for us have always been incredible. It's the same team as before.

Mohammed Siraj opened the bowling for Gujarat Titans and Virat Kohli along with Phil Salt came to open the batting for Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Kohli hit a boundary to collect six runs from the first over.

Arshad Khan came to bowl the second over and he got rid of Virat Kohli on the fourth delivery of his over. Devdutt Padikkal came to bat after him and lost his wicket in the next over of Mohammed Siraj. RCB skipper Rajat Patidar came to bat at number four.

Mohammed Siraj came to bowl his third over on trot and Phil Salt hit him a massive six which went out of the stadium. But Siraj bowled him on the very next delivery to complete his revenge and took his second wicket of the match.

Ishant Sharma was introduced into the attack in the seventh over and Rajat Patidar welcomed him with a boundary. Sharma dismissed him on the very next delivery. Jitesh Sharma came to bat at number six and he also hit a boundary. Prasidh Krishan conceded just one runs in the next over but Jitesh Sharma hit Ishant for two fours and a six in his next over.

Rashid Khan came to bowl the 12th over and he appealed for an LBW dismissal against Liam Livingstone which umpire declined. Then GT took their second review but it was not out and they lost both of their reviews. Livingstone went on to hit a six and Jitesh hit a four in his over.

Sai Kishore dismissed Jitesh Sharma in his second over when Rahul Tewatia took a fine catch. Then Krunal Pandya came to bat and he got rid of him in his next over. Tim David has joined Liam Livingstone at the crease.

Tim David hit a six off Sai Kishore to finish his over with 10 runs. He finished his spell with bowling figures of 4-0-22-2. Then came Rashid Khan and Liam Livingstone hit a hat-trick of sixes in the 18th over.

Mohammed Siraj came to bowl the 19th over and he dismissed the half-centurion Liam Livingstone on the second delivery. He conceded just four runs and bowled a brilliant over under pressure to finish his spell with the bowling figures of 4-0-19-3. Then Prasidh Krishna came to bowl the final over and he conceded 16 runs which helped RCB set a 170-run target for GT.

Not 200, we were targeting around 190 after the powerplay, but losing early wickets harmed this match. I think the intent was good, but we shouldn't have lost as many as 3 wickets in the PP, it was one wicket too many. The conditions did get better, the bowlers were amazing trying to defend this total, to take this chase into the 18th over was amazing to watch. The way Jitesh, Liam Livingstone, and Tim David, the way they batted, it was a positive for us. We're confident about the batting line-up, they're showing some positive intent which is very good for us.

Enjoyed batting, the bowlers were fantastic, the fielding could have being better, myself better, we might have been chasing 30 runs less. I was embarrassed (on his dropped catch), Salty was a dangerous batter, I tired to celebrate in a Herschelle Gibbs style, tried to celebrate way too early. There was a bit of movement early on with the new ball, so credit to our openers for having played out the initial period. The fielding could have been better, but we have our bases covered, some fine bowlers, quality batters and some dangerous hitters in our squad.

We have seen on this ground.. restricting them to 170 was a good effort. The wicket has something in it sometimes; you can score 250 as well as get early wickets, there was something for the fast bowlers in the first 7-8 overs and we knew if we pick early wickets then we are in the game. You are disapointed but you need to keep coming back, grab the next opportunity. We batted professionally considering the wicket. It is all about adapting to the situation and play according to that.
