Welcome to the live coverage of the Women's Premier League 2024-25 where Royal Challengers Bengaluru face UP Warriorz today.

The Bengaluru outfit lost their last game to Mumbai Indians after starting the competition with back-to-back wins. UP Warriorz, on the other hand, got the taste of victory for the first time this season in their last game against Delhi Capitals. They had started the tournament with a couple of losses. Smriti Mandhana's women would like to ensure they return to winning ways while Deepti Sharma's troops will like to gain some momentum.

A slowish start for RCB. Dannielle Wyat-Hodge did launch Grace Harris for a six on the first ball of the second over but apart from that, it has been a quiet beginning for the Bengaluru outfit.

Captain gets captain. Smriti Mandhana has been bowled by Deepti Sharma in the fourth over and she has to walk back for just 6(9). Poor outing for the RCB captain. Ellyse Perry comes to the middle.

An interesting powerplay ends for RCB. They have hit four fours and two sixes but because they have also played a lot of dot balls, the score has not quite moved as they would have wanted. But with Perry and Wyatt-Hodge batting, the run rate could climb within no time. A shared powerplay one would say as UPW also got the wicket of Mandhana.

Wyatt-Hodge and Perry have added 34 runs in this partnership now but they have also taken 32 balls to do it. Both of them are batting a bit slow. The pitch is also not perfect for hitting through the line but perhaps it is time for the duo to up the ante.

The duo has changed gears. 30 runs off the last two overs and RCB are now in control. Perry has yet again crossed fifty and Wyatt-Hodge too is moving towards the half-century.

A couple of wickets and UP Warriorz would hope this would help them come back into the game. Wyatt-Hodge got out on Tahlia's McGrath's delivery in the 14th over. She scored 57. Richa Ghosh then got out cheaply in the 16th over to Chinelle Henry. Perry is still there so RCB would hope for a big final flourish.

RCB 180/6 in 20 overs

A gem of an innings by the absolute star of women's cricket. Ellyse Perry finishes with an outstanding 90 not out and RCB have got a big score on board despite the slow start. Perry walks back to a standing ovation. 90 not out from 55 balls. Nine fours and three sixes. Take a bow Ellyse Perry!

UP Warriorz need 181 runs to win

Kiran Navgire is off to a flier and so are the Warriorz. Four fours, one six and she has raced to 24 off just 10 balls. Brilliant start for UPW. A start they really need if they have to get a crack at this 181-run target.

Three wickets in the powerplay and RCB are right back in the game. In fact one could argue that they are now ahead in this contest. UP Warriorz have galloped to 57 in the powerplay but they have lost both their openers and Tahlia McGrath. Deepti Sharma has started well and is currently on the crease with Shweta Sehrawat.

Deepti Sharma is gone. She was batting beautifully and had raced to 25 off just 13 balls. She slams Sneh Rana for a boundary on the first ball of the eighth over and then launches a six on the fifth but Rana has the last laugh. UPW in real trouble now.

It has been a very interesting chase from UP Warriorz. They keep losing wickets but whoever comes next is not worried and keeps hitting their shots. So now, 58 runs are needed from 36 balls. Quite gettable at the moment but they have only four wickets left. Sneh Rana has taken three wickets so far. Meanwhile, Chinelle Henry has arrived.

Chinelle Henry is gone and that should seal the game in RCB's favour. UP Warriorz needed to be aggressive in this chase and they were exactly that but could not keep wickets in hand. But credit to RCB bowlers as well. Some really smart bowling and it has been a collective effort. Garth and Renuka have two wickets each while Rana picked up three wickets.

What a finish! 18 were needed off the final over with Renuka bowling. Ecclestone dispatches Renuka for 16 in the first four balls, leaving only two runs to win off final two balls. Ecclestone then takes a single reducing the equation to 1 off 1. Richa Ghosh then pulls off a stunning run out from behind the wickets to stretch the game into the Super Over.

Okay then. Chinelle Henry and Grace Harris are the two batters for UPW. Kim Garth with the ball for RCB.

Ball 1: 2 runs, Henry seemed like getting a boundary but Mandhana puts a brilliant effort and saves two runs for her side.

Ball 2: 2 runs, Henry gets another double. This time on the off-side.

Ball 3: WIDE. RCB review the call but the third umpire stays with the on-filed decision.

Ball 3: WICKET, Henry edges it to the wicket-keeper and Ghosh completes the catch.

Ball 4: 0 run, Ecclestone comes to bat and she is beaten by a yorker from Garth.

Ball 5: 1 run, Just a single. What an over from Garth. Brilliant use of slower balls so far and seems like she has put RCB ahead here.

Ball 6: WIDE

Ball 6: Just a single for Harris and Garth finishes a seemingly match-winning over.

Brilliant over from Kim Garth and now the equation is simple. RCB need nine runs to win the Super Over.

Mandhana and Ghosh are the two batters for RCB. Ecclestone has the responsibility of defending nine runs for UPW.

Ball 1: 0, A dot ball to begin things. Should give confidence to Ecclestone. Ghosh decides to punch it and the ball goes straight to the cover fielder.

Ball 2: 1 run, Drilled down the ground by Ghosh but the ball smashes into the stumps. Just a single.

Ball 3: 0! Mandhana was given out LBW but she reviews and survives. It was pitching outside leg.

Ball 4: 1 run, What an over from Ecclestone. Mandhana can only get a single to long-on and now UPW are the firm favourites. 7 off 2 needed to win.

Ball 5: 1 run, RCB need a maximum on the final ball now as Ghosh can only manage a single.

UP Warriorz beat RCB In Super Over!

What a game of cricket we had at the Chinnaswamy tonight. A proper see-saw contest but it is the UP Warriorz who will go home with two points. They get their second straight win of the season while RCB have been handed back-to-back defeats now.

Sophie Ecclestone has snatched two points from the jaws of RCB and handed it over to UPW. An exceptional performance from the Englishwoman. She concedes only four runs in the Super Over to help UPW defend eight. But before that it was her late assault that had pushed the game which RCB was winning into the Super Over. Ellyse Perry had continued her good form with an unbeaten 90 to take RCB to 180 but, turns out, it was not enough.

Today we witnessed one of the best WPL games so far in the short history of the competition. A game of cricket to remember.

What a game for Eccelstone. She was first the most economical bowler for UP Warriorz. Even though she did not pick a wicket, her four-over spell only leaked 29 runs. She followed that with a cracking 33 off 19 balls batting at number nine when the game was almost lost by her side. She stretched the game into the Super Over through her batting before conceding just four runs in the Super Over and winning the game for her team.
