The second game of the Indian Premier League 2025 will see the batting giants of last season Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) host Rajasthan Royals (RR).
SRH, the runner-up of last season, are once again stacked with batting talent. They have added Ishan Kishan to their already scary batting core of Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Heinrich Klassen and Nitish Kumar Reddy. The bowling line-up will once again be led by their captain Pat Cummins who has been joined by Mohammed Shami and Harshal Patel in the pace department. Among spinners, SRH have Adam Zampa and Rahul Chahar.
RR, who were knocked out a step before final by SRH last year, too are packed with powerful faces, both old and fresh. Riyan Parag will be leading the side as Sanju Samson continues to nurse a thumb fracture and will feature as a batter only. While the batting has old names in Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shimron Hetmyer and Dhruv Jurel, the bowling is entirely new. Jofra Archer has returned to the Royals after three years at MI while the Sri Lankan duo of Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana form the spin core.
