Weeks after the mega auction for the Indian Premier League 2025, we have another auction, a mini one, for the upcoming edition of the Women's Premier League.

Five WPL franchises are eyeing to fill a maximum of 19 slots with space for just five overseas names.

When is the Women's Premier League auction?

The Women's Premier League auction takes place on Sunday, December 15th in Bengaluru. The auction begins 3:00pm IST.

How many players are in fray?

Over 400 players had registered for the auction but the list has now been reduced to 120 cricketers. 91 of these are Indian while 29 are foreigners.

How many slots will be filled?

Five teams can at maximum fill 19 slots out of which only five can be foreigners. Below is the number of players teams can buy in the auction.

  • Delhi Capitals: Four, including one overseas

  • Gujarat Giants: Four, including two overseas

  • Mumbai Indians: Four, including one overseas

  • Royal Challengers Bengaluru: Four, no overseas

  • UP Warriorz: Three, including one overseas

What is the purse left with teams?

  • Delhi Capitals Purse left: INR 2.5 crores

  • Gujarat Giants Purse left: INR 4.4 crores

  • Mumbai Indians Purse left: INR 2.65 crores

  • Royal Challengers Bengaluru Purse left: INR 3.25 crores

  • UP Warriorz Purse left: INR 3.9 crore

Who are the big names in the auction?

Some big names that will go under the hammer are: Deandra Dottin, Heather Knight (released by Royal Challengers Bengaluru) and Lizelle Lee. Among Indians, Sneh Rana (released by Gujarat Giants), Poonam Yadav (released by Delhi Capitals), Shubha Satheesh (released by Royal Challengers Bengaluru), Tejal Hasabnis and Mansi Joshi are the prominent names.

Which are the players with the highest base price?

England captain Heather Knight and West Indies allrounder Deandra Dottin are the two players with the base price of INR 50 lakhs, the highest in the auction.
