Cardiff continued to ask questions of a Burnley defence that had not conceded in 12 straight league games, with Yousef Salech poking one against the post.

Instead, it was the Clarets who doubled their advantage through Maxime Esteve on 40 minutes, who finished from close range after being found by Zian Flemming's header.

The draw leaves Preston 15th in the table, 12 points above the bottom three, while Swansea are one place and two points behind them.
