William Saliba conceded he has "not been so good" for Arsenal this season and said he demands more from himself if he is to help the Gunners win silverware. (More Football News)
After three loan spells with Saint-Etienne, Nice and Marseille, Saliba broke into the Arsenal team in 2022 and has formed an excellent partnership alongside Gabriel Magalhaes.
In the Premier League last term, Saliba and Gabriel helped Arsenal concede a league-low 29 goals as Mikel Arteta's side finished two points behind champions Manchester City.
However, Arsenal have struggled to maintain their high defensive standards this season, letting in 24 goals with 10 games of the current campaign still remaining.
The Gunners also find themselves 15 points behind leaders Liverpool in the Premier League, with it looking increasingly likely that they will fall short of the title once again.
"I want to be one day [one of] the best defenders in the world," Saliba told a news conference on Tuesday.
"You have to work a lot, to win trophies as well. It's my dream. I think I'm not the best at the moment because this season I've not been so good. It's like this.
"I have to review my season, but this season is not so good. I have to watch my partner, Gabriel, who has been바카라 웹사이트so good this season. I have to focus on myself and work more."
When pressed on where he had been lacking, Saliba said: "My concentration. I have to score more, help my team to win some trophies.
"When you win trophies you can say I'm the best, but as I said, this season we are still in the Champions League. The Premier League is not finished, I have to push myself."
Though, despite his self-criticism, Saliba believes Arsenal are close to winning a major trophy, having failed to win silverware since the Community Shield back in 2023.바카라 웹사이트
