The first leg of the tournament saw three 2-0 victories, with Real Madrid triumphing over Arsenal, Manchester City securing a home victory against league rivals Chelsea, and continental giants Lyon winning against Bayern Munich. Meanwhile, Barcelona got a 4-1 win away to Wolfsburg.

Bayern will be the most nervous team going into the second-leg tie, having to overturn a two-goal disadvantage away from home. Lyon have a 100% record in the Champions League so far, scoring 21 goals in seven games, including six clean sheets.

They secured a comfortable win over the German club, with goals from Tabitha Chawinga and Melchie Dumornay, and will expect to see the second leg out without any surprises.

Two Premier League clubs will be struggling to keep their qualification hopes alive, with both Arsenal and Chelsea down by two goals before the second leg.

Real Madrid won the first leg in conditions that Ian Wright described as “a disgrace”. However, coming off the back of winning derbies in their respective leagues, Arsenal and La Real will expect to give a tough fight in the second match.

Chelsea, who haven’t lost in the quarter-final rounds in the last five editions, will have to fight in their home stadium against a Man City side that ended their 28-game unbeaten run with two goals from substitute Vivianne Miedema.

The other game of the night will see Barcelona host Wolfsburg at the Estadi Johan Cruyff, boasting a 4-1 aggregate score in their favour. Barca Femeni are on course to make history, potentially securing a seventh-straight semi-final spot on Thursday night.
