This time there is something new for fans as the 2025 Daytona 500 will feature an electric vehicle (EV) as the official pace car. This marks the first time in the NASCAR's history that an EV will lead the field.
Chevrolet has announced that the Blazer EV SS will serve as the official pace car for the season opener. The vehicke boasts a dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain delivering 615 horsepower, a 0-60 mph time of just 3.4 seconds, and an estimated range of 283 miles.
After two decades of attempts, Kyle Busch will once again be aiming to secure his first title in Florida in his 20th race at Daytona speedway.
Haas Factory Team, JR Motorsports, and Tricon Garage are the teams making their debut. Also, the race will see Shane van Gisbergen making his Daytona 500 debut with Trackhouse Racing.
