National Games 2025 Opening Ceremony: PM Narendra Modi Declares Games Open In Dehradun

The 38th National Games kicked off in style on Tuesday with a vibrant opening ceremony in Dehradun, showcasing Uttarakhand's rich cultural heritage and breathtaking biodiversity. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the guest of honour, reiterated his commitment to bringing the 2036 Olympics to India, further energizing the crowd. This year's Games will feature around 10,000 athletes competing in 32 disciplines, with events spread across seven cities in the picturesque hill state. Dehradun will be the main hub of activity, with the Games running until February 14. The stakes are high, with approximately 450 gold, silver, and bronze medals up for grabs. The ceremony reached its pinnacle when Modi declared the Games open, following the teams' procession and the symbolic presentation of the flame.
