World Chess Championship 2024: Ding Liren Plays Out Draw In Five-Hour 20-Minute Long Game 7

Ding Liren managed to secure a draw in Game 7 against Gukesh after being "outplayed" for much of Game 6. Ding admitted he was lucky to escape, as Gukesh held a significant advantage on the board and clock during the middle and endgame. Remarkably, Ding made it past time control with just seven seconds left, avoiding a second-time loss in the championship, having previously lost Game 3 to Gukesh in a similar fashion. Game 7 was the longest of the match, lasting 5 hours and 20 minutes.
