The release date of Tom Holland starrer Spider-Man 4 has been postponed. The Marvel superhero film will now release a week later than the originally scheduled date. It will hit the theatres on July 31, 2026, as per a report in The Hollywood Reporter. Spider-Man 4 was earlier set to release on July 24, 2026.
The announcement was made by Sony Pictures. The film will release a few weeks after Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey.
Spider-Man 4 will be directed by Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings fame filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton, acording to The Hollywood Reporter.
During his recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Tom confirmed that production for the fourth instalment of the movie will start in mid-2025.
He said, "Next summer, we start shooting. Everything's good to go -- we're nearly there," Tom said. "Super exciting. I can't wait!"
Holland played Peter Parker in three previous Spider-Man films- Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), and Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021). All three were directed by Jon Watts.
The last installment was a huge box office success, crossing USD 1 billion worldwide.
