The 18th edition of the Asian Film Awards took place on Sunday, March 16, at the Xiqu Centre in the West Kowloon Cultural District, Hong Kong. The Asian Film Awards shared the list of winners on its official website.
Payal Kapadia's All We Imagine As Light won the Best Film at the Asian Film Awards 2025.
As per a report in The Hollywood Reporter, Kapadia said, “Thank you so much to my lead actors — three incredible artists and human beings. They are the ones who made this film what it is. I’m so happy that we could end our journey here in Hong Kong, a city that has meant a lot to me, watching the amazing films from this city over the years''.
Santosh actress Shahana Goswami and its director Sandhya Suri also bagged the top honours- Best Actress and Best New Director.
Other nominees in the Best Actress category were: Kani Kusruti (All We Imagine...), Sylvia Chang (Daughter라이브 바카라 Daughter), Kawai Yuumi (Desert of Namibia), and Kim Go-eun (Exhuma).
Suri, a British-Indian filmmaker won big by beating out notable directors like Yamanaka Yoko (Desert of Namibia), Sora Neo (Happyend), Dong Zijian (My Friend An Delie), and Truong Minh Quý (Viêt and Nam).
All We Imagine As Light, an official India-French co-production, scripted history by becoming the first Indian film to win the Grand Prix Award at the Cannes Film Festival last year. It also bagged the Best International Feature trophy at the prestigious Gotham Awards 2024. It also won top honour at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) 2024.
Starring Kani Kusruti, Divya Prabha, Chhaya Kadam, Hridhu Haroon, and Azees Nedumangad in key roles, All We Imagine as Light is the story of three nurses who come to Mumbai from smaller towns. The film explores female desires, their complex emotions, insecurities, and struggles.
Santosh revolves around a newly widowed housewife (Shahana Goswami) who gets her late husband라이브 바카라 job as a police constable and investigates a young girl라이브 바카라 murder.
