A widespread protest broke out in Bangladesh on Monday against Israel라이브 바카라 latest military offensives against Gaza where the pro-Palestine protesters called for a boycott of Israeli-affiliated products.
As Israel's war on Gaza raged on, Israel on April 2 announced its intention to expand the war. Israeli defence minister Israel Katz announced that this expansion of military operations would add "pressure on Hamas".
The latest attacks are coming after Israel ended a ceasefire with Hamas in March. Since then, Israel has also cracked down on food, fuel and humanitarian aid supply to Gaza — a tactic which is often considered a war crime.
Videos on social media depicted that the intensified protests targeted well-known international brands which were perceived to have ties with Israel including Bata, KFC, and Pizza Hut. According to the Dhaka Tribune, the protest by the crowd led to property damage, disruptions to daily life, and traffic congestion.
It has been reported that demonstrations were reported across cities, including Bogra, Sylhet, Cox라이브 바카라 Bazar, and Chittagong where the above-mentioned outlets were vandalized.
Hundreds of students and locals in Bogra City marched to the city centre holding placards and banners while several chanted slogans condemning the ‘genocide in Gaza’ and demanding the boycott of Israeli products.
Video footages also showed violent protests inside a Bata showroom where the angry mob was seen smashing glass walls with bricks.
According to a News-18 report, the protest also led to significant traffic congestion in the city. Students and locals from institutions like Govt Azizul Haque College, protesting under the ‘General Students, Bogra’ banner, flooded the streets in support of Palestinians.
As per local media in Bangladesh, the protesters urged the Bangladesh government and the United Nations to take swift action against Israel and push for a boycott of its products.
